It's Snowing review

It's Snowing!

Introduces readers to snow and discusses topics such as different types of snowstorms, regions where snow falls, and how to prepare when a snowstorm approaches.(goodreads summary)

At first I thought it would be too late for a nonfiction picture book about snow.  But today in Wisconsin it is snowing once again!

So...here is a book that will teach children several interesting facts about snow. Just as in her many other educational books, Gail Gibbons packs it with wonderful science information that will help children learn where snow comes from, why and where it snows and how it falls to the ground in different ways. It touches on the topics of evaporation, differences between a winter storm watch or warning and even preparing yourself for a snowstorm. The illustrations are colorful and eye catching with many things to see on each page. The last page has even more facts added from the first person to take a picture of snowflakes to the Great Blizzard of 1888. This would be a great book to read aloud and then take a walk in the snow catching snowflakes on your tongue. I think this is a "just right book" for ages 4-7.~
