Peanut the puppy is off to doggy school to learn how to become a good pup. Crackers also goes along to show him the ropes but once there, they end up being separated and Peanut runs into a small group of little bullies. He goes home feeling sad after his bad first day and Crackers and Butter are determined to find what made him so blue.
This graphic novel is the second book of the series for early readers. It is a cute story about finding courage and standing up for yourself since Peanut has to navigate the bullies without his family members. In the meantime, Crackers and Butter try to find a way to come to Peanut's rescue with humor. The trio problem solve and come together proving that their friendship and family bond wins in the end. The storyline is engaging, simple to follow and the storyboards are brightly colored. Peanut learns that small dogs can do big things and gains unlikely friendships along the way. I think this is a "just right book" for ages 6-8.~
