Peanut, Butter and Crackers owner takes the group on a camping trip. Butter and Peanut decide to go off on their own to do some exploring and they end up getting lost from the campsite. It is up to Crackers to take charge and find them before danger finds them first.
This is another cute and adventurous graphic novel for the animal loving early reader. Butter and Peanut find themselves in a precarious situation after wandering off and getting lost in the woods. It is all fun at first but once they realize they cannot find their campsite home, Peanut gets worried. Crackers shows concern over them being gone for so long and he sets off to search for them. Quick thinking by Crackers and a new friend beaver saves Peanut and Butter just in time from a raging river. Just like the previous stories, the trio will go through great lengths to help one another. The characters personalities are likable and fitting. Butter the cat can be a little stinker, Peanut has lots of puppy jubilance and Crackers has a good head on his shoulders. The pictures are bright and bold and there is a bit more text in this one but still easy to follow along. This series always has a nice message of thoughtfulness, family and what it means to have a home. I think this is a "just right book" for ages 6-8.~
