The Stuffie Stand review

Entrepreneurship leads to an unexpected friendship in this hilarious tale of Moose, a stuffed-animal fanatic who starts a Stuffie Stand that’s a runaway success—until he’s forced to partner with his most annoying customer and fiercest competitor, Mabel.(goodreads summary)

Moose loves to make and sell stuffed animals.  They are cute and simple, just the way they should be.  Mabel loves to make stuffed animals too but she adds a touch of bedazzle to hers. Mabel would love to join Moose by selling at his stand but Moose finds her bedazzled stuffies unappealing and sends her. But when his stand unexpectedly takes off in popularity, it becomes overwhelming trying to keep up with his customer's orders.

Here is a cute and funny book for the stuffed animal lover.  It is a great story about having different opinions, learning to compromise and asking for help when needed.  Moose was quite grumpy at Mabel offering her help when he sold out of stuffies and couldn't keep up with orders. But when Moose developed a case of the "noodle arms", he eventually realized that he needed Mabel more than he thought. Mabel was still ready to jump in when he finally swallowed his pride and admitted he needed help.  Despite their differences, Moose liked how their styles worked well together and made for a nice partnership.  The cartoonish illustrations are bright, colorful and full of humor.   Readers will enjoy looking at all the different stuffies and finding which ones were made by Moose and which ones by Mabel.  The text is simple to read aloud and good conversation can come after reading. It has wonderful themes of patience, acceptance and working well with others.  I think this is a "just right book" for ages 3-7.~
